well, don’t just stare at the screen contemplating…

say it with yo’ chest so we can leave it on their mind!

Tired of the systemic gatekeeping tactics of the publishing world trying to water down the message of your art? Sick of being tokenized until the trend or the awareness month is over with? Does your art advocate for marginalized voices but folks are too afraid to publish it because feathers will be ruffled? Then you’ve met your kinfolk in the right space, a Blunt Space at that.

Our submission period will be opening soon! If you would like to submit, we will be taking submissions from August 15, 2025 till October 15, 2025 surrounding the theme: Redefining Mentality. Whether your focus is on neurodivergence, raising suicide awareness, shedding light on cognitive/emotional disabilities, exploring personality disorders, or tackling discrimination in the mental health field, we want to see and experience the art you create. We accept prose (prose poetry, fiction, non-fiction), poetry, video and audio, photography, and visual arts.

Click the “Submit Here” button below to read our guidelines and submission instructions before submitting.

Requirements

You are only allowed to submit ONCE per open submission period. Submissions must match the theme of the open call; otherwise, it will result in an automatic rejection; however, matching the theme does not guarantee publication. Participants are allowed to submit mix media into their submissions (i.e., one poem, one video; one visual art, video, prose). We do not accept screenshots, screen recordings, or AI works of any medium or genre. Hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated, no exceptions. In addition to hate speech, plagiarism and unoriginal works will be automatically rejected and result in the individual(s) being disqualified from publishing with us permanently.
